I’m a group-y kind of girl. I always have been. No, not that kind. I love the village of my girlfriends that I get to live in from time to time. Were it not for my girlfriends or fellow mom friends, I would not be as validated, or as encouraged, as I need to be. In fact, you probably would not want to be around me. Because my true girlfriends challenge me to be the best me, at the same time Continue Reading
Lice Lice, Baby
It happened. A new motherhood-rite-of-passage. You hope, hope, hope, it never will and then it does. Kate and I got lice. Ewwwww….just say it. (Are you scratching your head yet?) Kate had been scratching her head for a week or so, and I was faithfully checking her hair and scalp. AND NOT FINDING A THING. Then, the morning we were set to leave for a lovely nearby resort, I had the silly Continue Reading
I’m Sick of Being the Time Police
I. AM. SO. SICK. OF. BEING. THE. TIME. POLICE. Wish I had something really rich, deep and inspiring to share, but I don’t. It’s a day for just venting. Every day, every mother goes through this. GETTING OUT THE DOOR. For school, for camps, for appointments, for sports, for the grocery store, for play-dates and playtimes. For WHATEVER, because we don’t live and hibernate in our homes. Nor do I Continue Reading

Once you could not hold anything in your poor low-tone fingers. Now you can write two sentences, easily. Once you could not read the pages of the books you flipped through obsessively. Now you read. Out loud. Continue Reading
I’m A Wanna-Be Fun-Summer-Mama
I love summertime and I also truly struggle with summertime. I love BBQ’s, festive parties, July 4th fireworks, and eating outdoors. I love that there’s no homework for my 3 kids (and me!). I love the sunshine and warmth of Southern California. I love seeing my kids swim and splash and play as if there were no better activity in life ever. But I really struggle with the kids being out of Continue Reading
Rainbow Poop
There it was. Gracie’s glorious puppy markings in the “potty spot.” The day before I had caught Gracie eating crayons in the boys’ room. And you know what? She had rainbow poop. I actually saw light blue and purple and orange wax remnants. Yes, I know, too much detail. You get the picture! I’m a mom, so these things just don’t gross me out anymore. It’s striking to me how, now that I am Continue Reading
